REDACTIE VI
Treasurer
Hi! My name is Koen and I am the treasurer of ongehoord. I am currently writing my thesis in my fourth year of philosophy. Though my passion is philosphy I also enjoy getting a taste of the other disciplines that together form the HHP. I joined ongehoord because I like how the journal showcases the work of my fellow students. It is always interesting to see what works they publish, and it would be a shame if some of the best work they publish is only read by busy professors. I was also part of ongehoord last year but I stayed because I like the journal and the team.
Lauren van der Spuy
Chair
Hello everyone, my name is Lauren, and I am an Italian-South African from Cape Town. I am a third year Literary Studies student who specialised in Literature in Conflict. I have a love for poetry and beautifully written texts. I enjoy history, journalism, and art. My goal this year as chair of the Ongehoord Journal, is to publish and promote the amazing authors and scholars who attend Utrecht University. I would like to build a committee that is well-known by the academic community. I have an incredible team by my side, and I believe all our goals will be reached.
Jarno Smets
Secretary
Hi everyone! My name is Jarno, and I'm from the beautiful Brabant. I'm currently in my second year of Language and Culture studies, in which I'm majoring in Philosophy. I'm also very much interested in the academic environment. That's the reason is why I joined Ongehoord; the Ongehoord journal is like a lite version of academic publishing (but, of course, to be taken just as seriously!). Otherwise I like playing guitar, reading, and running.
Marieke van Vulpen
PR manager
Hi everyone, my name is Marieke and I am a second year Language and Culture student. As my major I am studying Brains and Bodies, which is a program that focuses on the relationship between the brain, body and its cognitive processes and the humanities. I also follow a minor in linguistics. Besides this I am also interested in photography, art, literature and movies.
Pauline Scherer
PR assistent
Hey :) My name is Pauline and I am an international student from Germany. Currently I am a Media and Culture student in the second year here at Utrecht University with a specialisation in participatory cultures and games. I mostly spend my free time on game of all sort or reading. I always had a love for narrative structures and character development be in in literature, film and tv or in videogames. I am excited to be part of the Ongehoord Journal and can’t wait to see all the compelling essays people will submit.
Esmee Woltring
Advisor
Hi, my name is Esmee and this is my third year being a member of this editorial board. As I am rounding off my English Language and Culture degree with a semester in the UK and my BA thesis this year, I am now taking a bit more of a background role for the journal. Given my experience with the committee, I am mostly present to give technical and logistical advice. Of course, I also still enjoy everything surrounding our regular editorial process, from proof-reading to designing. In my free time, I also love to read and watch every story I can get my hands on, so I am hoping to centre my role within our journal around that this year.

Monice Tobi
Editor
Hi! My name is Monice, nice to meet you! I’m in my fourth year of Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a major in psychology but an everlasting love for the humanities. I adore writing academically and creatively. I’ve been doing the latter for most of my life. Ongehoord allows me to discuss this hobby of mine every week, with a cup of coffee and great company!
Sabrina Botasheva
Editor
Hi, my name is Sabrina and I am a third-year English Language and Culture student from Russia. I am passionate about Modernist literature, Art History, Philosophy, and Cinema. In my spare time, I write novels and short stories. I joined Ongehoord because I enjoy working with texts and plan to centre my future career around editing.
